There are two principal ways to bleach your teeth.

1. IN-OFFICE LASER BLEACHING GEL
This is an in-office chair side bleaching system that utilizes a unique mix of Thermal Absorption Crystals integrated into a gel of highly processed Fumed Silica and 35% Hydrogen Peroxide.

This translucent, semi-viscous bleaching gel is applied to the teeth and a high intensity light source (plasma arc light) is used to activate the Crystals to absorb the thermal energy from the light and allowing better disassociation of the oxygen to better penetrate the enamel matrix and increase the lightening effect on the teeth.

2. HOME BLEACHING
This is a more common way of bleaching teeth. It involves custom-made bleaching trays and syringes containing a safe bleaching gel. Home-bleaching gels are usually of thick viscosity, pleasant-tasting, and contain carbamide peroxide at different concentrations.

Tooth whitening involves two short office visits. The first one is for taking impressions for the custom-fabricated trays and the second one to pick up the trays and the bleaching agent.

One needs to wear the gel-containing trays only two or more hours for a few days. The results on yellow/brown teeth are most dramatic.
